Ear Styling is a process in which you work one-on-one with your chosen piercer to style and reimagine your existing piercings into a new, balanced look. This involves switching your current jewelry to new pieces and adding new piercings to further build your style with safe healing in mind!

So Gold is a private studio that specializes in styling with 14k and 18k white, yellow, and rose gold body jewelry with genuine gemstones — We believe fine jewelry can also be worn seamlessly in body piercings and isn’t limited to just necklaces and rings.

INSPIRATION

Requirements:

  1. You must have three or more fully healed piercings (not including your first lobes).

  2. You are prepared to get 1-3 new piercings during your styling session.

  3. You are committed to a $700 minimum spend (pre-tax) during your visit. Styling pricing will vary depending on the total number of piercings you currently have and the jewelry we pick out together, which typically is anywhere between $800-$3,000+.

What To Expect During Your Appointment

INTRO: You will meet your piercer and they will take the first few minutes to do a check-up on your existing piercings and your anatomy before diving into your vision with styling.

JEWELRY SELECTION: The best part of having an ear styling is that it is a collaborative process! You have time dedicated to look at different jewelry options and find your favorite pieces, and we will make sure that they are styled, balanced, and work with your existing piercing sizes and angles.

Tip: We love having fun making suggestions for your styling, but it’s always helpful to have some inspiration ready during your appointment for us to reference in making sure we meet your goals. It’s also great to have an idea on what gold color you prefer (white, yellow, or rose), but we are happy to also make a recommendation.

NEW PIERCINGS: Your styling also allows time for 1-3 new piercings! If you have an idea of what you’d like, let your piercer know and we will perform an anatomy check and help choose out jewelry.

If you don’t have any specific new piercings you’d like, we will make our recommendations on placement based on what we’ve picked out for your styling to continue building onto your look!

Tip: If you are already heavily pierced and would prefer to not add any new piercings, we are happy to focus on just switching out your existing jewelry during your styling.

FAQ

  • No worries! Every piercing that we perform has a styling aspect to it, so we can build up your look with great jewelry from the beginning.

    We recommend booking a Jewelry Change appointment if you don’t have over three healed piercings and are looking for styling advice. You can also book for ear piercings and add on a jewelry change to your appointment.

  • Unfortunately, this is not a service that we offer at the moment. Styling requires a clear look and feel of your anatomy to be sure that certain piercings are viable. We recommend using the member locator at safepiercing.org to find a piercer near you. Keep in mind that not all piercers offer styling services, so its best to do your research and reach out to studios directly.

  • Of course! If you don’t have enough piercings or can’t meet the minimum for a full styling service we recommend booking either a Jewelry Change appointment, or for however many Ear Piercings you’d like to get.

    All of our services come with a personal styling aspect, so we will always work to build your look in sessions rather than a full styling appointment.

  • It can be either! If you have enough piercings on one ear, we can focus on that. If you’d like both ears styled, that is also possible during your appointment.

  • If you are interested in any specific pieces, please let us know ahead of time by sending an email to info@sogoldstudios.com. We highly recommend not booking an appointment until we can confirm the jewelry’s arrival as we would likely need to have it ordered for you.

  • Our options for styling appointments are available in white, yellow and rose gold at a minimum of 14k. We do not carry plated jewelry or black rhodium jewelry in our stock - If you are interested in something other than those tones, we would recommend inquiring about a custom order.
